SANDOWN

1.40

ZALSHAH should like the bit of cut in the ground as he went well on it when second at Lingfield two runs ago.

He has since gone to Chelmsford where he had no luck in running after being well backed. This is his best distance and the handicapper has helped with a 2lb drop in the weights.

2.10

OUR LORD is going for his fourth win on the spin and this looks to be a pretty simple chance to pull it off.

He has improved with each victory and goes off the same mark as his last victory because that was an apprentices’ event.

This trip is ideal and he has a good low draw for good measure.

2.45

EMARAATY cost connections a fortune and they have taken their time with him ahead of this debut.

He could have been drawn better but should relish this trip and looks the one to beat. He’s bred to be a champion so watch the betting for clues.

Steve Mullen's star bet

  • 4.25 Sandown –Helfire: ‘She has done a lot of all-weather racing but has won on turf and looks ready for another success’(add to your betslip)

3.20

BATHSHEBA BAY has been knocking on the door with his past two runs, including when second here two runs ago.

He then went to Goodwood to fill the runner-up spot with a good distance back to the third horse home. That was over this distance and a repeat of that effort would see him go close.

3.55

ROBIN WEATHERS caught the eye on debut when winning at Salisbury in a bobbing finish.

That was over 7f and he was putting in all his best work at the finish so should appreciate this step up in distance.

He has a couple of useful types to beat in Icespire and Elucidation but is open to plenty of improvement.

4.25 – Mullen’s star bet

HELFIRE has been running well in better races than this, including when third in good company at Ascot two runs ago.

She followed up with another solid placed effort at Brighton last time and goes off the same mark here.

She has done a lot of all-weather racing but has won on turf and looks ready for another success.

5.00

PRECIOUS ANGEL took a big step forward with her form when finishing a good second at Kempton last time out.

That was her first run after a break and the handicapper has left her mark alone for this switch back to turf.

She shapes as though this hike in distance will suit and there should be a lot more to come.
